What we doUrban Monastery Building

Urban Monastery Building

On the 24th December we signed the lease and got the keys to the former Whiteinch Burgh Halls in Inchlee Street. We have been looking for more space to move into for about a year now and these buildings look ideal for all that we need. They are conveniently located in the centre of the Whiteinch area, with good on street parking. We have space for a prayer room, offices, ministry rooms, training rooms as well as space for Encounter to use. We will continue use the Whiteinch Centre for our Sunday services and Revolution. This has led to the other amazing thing that has happened – we have had the privilege of starting what we hope and pray will be a year of 24/7 prayer for Scotland in our brand new prayer room in Inchlee Street!

We need your help to move forward.

Our first priority is getting moved from our Dumbarton Road offices to the new building. We need people who are willing to clean, paint and decorate – could you give us a few hours during the next month or two?

We are looking for people who can help with joinery, heating, electrics, telephone systems, WiFi, computer systems. You may be able to do these things or have equipment that would help? We are trying to source things cheaply or free – perhaps you have things we could use?

Sandra Ford (07823338969) is the team leader for the Project team and is the one who would be able to let you know what is needed and what is happening when. If you are able to help then please get in touch.

Our second priority is to get the hall (accommodates 80-100) up and running as soon as possible. Many of the things that are needed for the offices are also needed for the hall, but we will also need help with roof / skylight repairs, PA and AV installation, plumbing and heating work. Again it may be that you can help or know someone who can? Please contact Sandra.

Beyond that we will be working on the third area which will house our training and ministry rooms as soon as possible.

Please pray for us that we would be able to get all of this done quicker than any of us can imagine and with as little hassle as possible! Please also pray that everything that we need – money, people, materials would be provided for us.

One very specific financial need is to raise the £8000 balance on Daniel’s post for 2010. If you feel that you can give to this specifically either as a one off gift or as a regular monthly support then please contact James at the office.

The first phase of getting the prayer room up and running and moving the offices to Inchlee Street will cost £4-5,000. The hall with its associated costs will cost a further £5-8,000, and the training and ministry rooms a further £5-8,000. Thanks for any support that you can give.
