The Smeeds
Alex came to join us in April 2008 after having finished his ministry training in Haddington, East Lothian. Both Alex and his wife Sal come with a passion to see new patterns of church emerge that engage with the world in a relevant and holistic way. They’re motivated to live a life that embodies creation care, simplicity, justice and love – the hallmarks of God’s way of life.
The Smeeds have two roles with Whiteinch Church. Alex is the Associate Minister, sharing in the work as the church pursues its vision for Urban Monastery. Their main focus, however, is working as Team Leaders for an Emerging Ministry in Glasgow Harbour. This work is in conjunction with Partick South and Whiteinch Church of Scotland, who together share the vision of seeing a worshipping community grow in Glasgow Harbour.
